And here we are. The final chapter can be found HERE. Please do read the epilogue and afterword by hitting “NEXT” on the bottom of the page.
Couple announcements to make today, so I’ll start with the more fun one, I guess. I’ll be holding an AMA (Ask Me Anything)! For the next week (or so), I’ll be taking questions on the comments to this post. If you have anything you want to ask me, go ahead and leave it in the comments. I’ll get to them when I can (which should, again, be within the week.) I reserve the right to not answer your question if I find it a tad too personal or uncomfortable – though I’ll certainly let you know if I choose to pass.
Second announcement: What’s happening next. As I’ve said numerous times, I already have a sequel for LXM in the works. I’ll be releasing more details on this in the weeks to follow (and of course my Patrons will be the first to find out) but for now, the main thing to note is that I will not be releasing anything until the last week of May. This is for three reasons: First, I’m actually currently smack in the middle of my finals, so I’m going to need the week to focus on them. Second, I’m flying off on a family trip abroad for the first half of May. Naturally, while I’m there, I will not be capable of writing anything. And third, for me to fully flesh out and finalise the plot details for the sequel before I start releasing it. I seek your understanding and patience on this matter.
As a final note, the perceptive – and maybe even the not so perceptive – will probably be able to guess what I’m going to do in the sequel through what I’ve written in the epilogue. All I’ll say is: look forward to it ^^
Once again, thank you for all your support, and I hope you’ll continue to stick with me as I move on with the continuation of this saga.
Thank you very much for all your hard work on this series! It’s wonderful to see a project of this scale completed! ?
I don’t have any questions yet, though. I should read the ending first… ?
Ok, how about a technical question: do you have an average word count that you aim for in your chapters? Personally, I find that knowing approximately how long I want my chapters to be held me control the pace a bit better, but what is your experience?
Generally I aim for “More than 1k” because going under feels like the release was pointless. I tend to break off at appropriate breaks in the narrative, but generally that puts me above 1k. If I find myself under, then I look at whether there’s anything from the next scene that I can shift forward, or otherwise whether there’s any part within the chapter itself that I can elaborate on without becoming draggy.
What was your agenda when writing LxM, and, for the most part, at least, was all the plot of this planned elaborately as you started dedicating yourself to it? What did you want to depict and tell your readers? Perhaps it can be summed up into “the life of a character I created that’s been through emotional incidents on both sides of the spectrum”, but I’d prefer to hear it from you. What did you want to convey?
“What was your agenda when writing LxM”
I was bored.
“was all the plot of this planned elaborately as you started dedicating yourself to it?”
Yes. I can also tell you that literally less than half of what was in my original plan is in the story’s current form lmao.
“What did you want to depict and tell your readers?”
Nothing tbh. I wrote because I wanted to. Maybe some deeper message or moral came through, but if it did, it was unintentional. I have never written to convey a specific message, nor will I likely ever write to do so.
Marry me please? <3
Okay. Come to my room.
4.5/5: You have some (Slight) errors and arguable plot holes which can be patched up here and there but otherwise an excellent story which has flow, development and character. A nice read to pass the time but to read in short bursts (ie: chapter by chapter) may cause deliberating (?) anxiety for some readers. Best of luck on your next work!
I must say, I when I started reading this story on RRL, I expected some lighthearted comedy stuff, boi, was I WRONG. While there are a few plot holes, the whole of the story more than makes up for it. After reading LXM, I MUST thank you so much for writing the story, it struck right home in my heart. I do simply not have the words to express it, but know that I loved it so very, very much. As much as I would like to start reading SEly, I am afraid I must refrain, I simply do not take cliffhangers and needing to break immersion for a few days very well. Know that I have every intention of reading SEly and can only hope and wish that you will keep writing without anything untowards happening to you. I would loathe, if not outright hate, not getting closure to Lily’s story.
Again, thank you so much for writing.
