It pains me to say this, but school has been beating me over the head recently. I’ve recently been finding it extremely difficult to find the time and energy to write as frequently in the past, and my workload doesn’t seem to be likely to grow lighter over the semester… (I have 26 books to read in 13 weeks, in addition to secondary readings and references). In recent weeks, pushing out two chapters of SEly per week have been a real struggle for me, especially when I’m trying to upkeep the same quality of writing I’ve been holding for the last year or so.
As such, I am forced to consider my priorities and my very human limits. I recognise that if I keep pushing myself like this, I’m going to burn out from fatigue sooner rather than later, and I’d like to avoid that.
So, it is with deep regrets that I announce that henceforth until further notice, Seeking Elysium’s release schedule will be slowed down, to a rate of 1 chapter per week. Please accept my full apologies for this, and know that I would not do this unless I thought it absolutely necessary. Those of you who are generously contributing to my Patreon, I understand if you wish to stop your support at this point. I am ashamed to admit, that I have failed to live up to your expectations, as well as my own promises. I hope you can find it in your hearts to forgive me for this decision.
Thank you for the notification 🙂
Yeah, burnt out author is not good – take care of yourself and RL =D
I admit I haven’t been keeping up with the story, so I’m not sure how much weight my opinion has. But, I don’t think it’s something you have to be guilty about. One chapter a week is still a very large commitment. 😄
there are far worse stories that post more often. there are EVEN worse that post less often. quality content > fast release. as long as chapters come out… eventually. I am nothing but thankful. good luck with all that reading though… 2 a week is A LOT of reading blech.
